The Guest Cottage offers an additional two bedrooms, Bathroom, Kitchenette and dining area, Marble tiled throughout, with fittings akin to those in the main house. The Cottage bedrooms and Dining area all open out onto its own a private courtyard and separate entrance. This Part of the home was designed to offer additional sleeping quarters for guests, staff or even to be used as a home office space.

Two more guest bathrooms are conveniently located throughout the living areas of the main house, one with toilet and wash basin the other with toilet, wash basin and men’s urinal.

The master bedroom boasts walk in closet storage with floor to ceiling shelving and drawers. Understanding the rising cost of energy and heating, thermally insulating building materials were used throughout the construction of this home.

Prately Minerals thermal insulation mix, Pratlipearl was incorporated into the plaster of all outward facing walls to reduce heat loss during winter and to keep the house cool during summer.

Heat gain and loss in residential homes takes place largely through the roof structure, the Living areas of this home have been fitted with sleek looking, ISOBoard ceiling boards, keeping in the heat generated in Winter and keeping out the heat in Summer.

The Bedrooms, passage and other areas of the home where enclosed ceilings, with warm downlights and shadow-line skirtings are found, have been professionally fitted with recycled cellulose-fibre thermal ceiling insulation assisting in reducing the energy required for heating & cooling.

For the cold winter days the house has German engineered Rehau PVC windows with Double glazed Low E glass throughout, offering temperate climates throughout the year and the added benefits of sound reduction and additional safety.

All municipal water supplied into the home is managed through a fresh water UV light filtration system, ensuring that all water used in the house is crystal clear and healthy to drink.

Instant hot water on demand, is a reality made possible via a reticulation feed. A fully programable system, with time and temperature settings, comprising of Two 15kW Thermowise feeder pumps push hot water constantly throughout the house, providing substantial financial and energy savings as nearly nothing is wasted waiting for hot water to arrive. This is supported by a 1000 litre Solar heated water tank, with electrical back up.

The roof of each of the living areas were constructed to collect rain water through the pitch run off and a cleverly designed concrete sloot running the full length of this space, this feeds two 5000l Jojo tanks tucked neatly away in the utilities courtyard. This water feeds the fully comprehensive rain bird garden irrigation system. This Irrigation runs to the far reaches of the spacious Garden.

The Owens Corning shingle style roof tile has been used throughout the pitch roof areas. These bitumen impregnated fiberglass core shingles are colour fast and completely maintenance free, creating a thermal break offering insulation from both sound and weather conditions. This spotted grey green shade was selected to blend seamlessly with the abundant organic surroundings of the home.

A four car extra length garage all under one roof, fitted with rubber flooring tiles, offers ample space for cars, bikes and all of the outdoor extras and necessities. Adjoining with a plant and utilities room housing the distribution boards, battery back-up, solar system and AV Server.

Geared for entertaining, folding storefront doors open out from the Living areas on to an extremely spacious patio and braai area, where both covered and open roofing sections allow for hosting in all weather conditions.
